MPARNTWE venue
Kwartatuma, nestled within the West MacDonnell Ranges, is a place of raw desert beauty and deep ecological and cultural significance. Its soaring red walls, permanent waterhole (up to 14 metres deep), and rare, relict plant and animal species—including the once-lost Central Rock Rat—make it a true desert sanctuary.

Tjoritja (West MacDonnell Ranges), Western Arrernte Country
This is where the Mparntwe Conference will conclude—in a landscape that invites awe. A striking shelter by local firm Susan Dugdale & Associates sets the scene for our closing gathering. Between final reflections and a star-lit dinner, delegates are invited to wander the gorge or climb the Ghost Gum Walk to the cliff-top lookout, also designed by SDA, for breathtaking views across the ancient Country.
It’s not just an ending—it’s an exhale.
