RAA announces creative collaboration with NSW Architects Registration Board

The Regional Architecture Association is delighted to announce that a copy of its new journal, Field Architecture Gone Regional, will soon be sent to all public libraries in New South Wales, as part of a new shared venture with the NSW Architects Registration Board.

Under the new initiative, the NSW ARB is supporting the distribution of Field, Issue #1 to all 365 public libraries in the state, broadening the journal’s reach, and paving the way to further regional conversations about the value of architecture in everyday life.

“This exciting shared venture represents the alignment between RAA’s purpose of engaging communities with architecture, and the NSW ARB’s remit of registering architects, protecting consumers and promoting awareness and understanding of the built environment,” says RAA President, Tim Lee.

“Not only will it increase equitable community access to our flagship journal, Field, it provides a platform for extending community engagement with built environment issues in the regions.”

Libraries are vital community hubs, and increasingly, our most democratic public spaces – inclusive and free for all to use. Having a connection to local libraries therefore aligns to the consumer-related objectives of both RAA and the NSW ARB – placing regional architectural issues and discourse within reach of local communities.

As RAA’s journal of record, Field shines a light on the essential and exceptional work of architects in our regions. It aims beyond the professional, to also speak to a general audience, presenting conversations and ideas about architecture through the lens of community, social and environmental purpose.

We are excited to be collaborating with the NSW Architects Registration Board on creating a model of community engagement that continues to grow alongside Field, and bring important local conversations to town.
