RAA Journal Announcement
WE ARE GOING TO PRINT!
Since the inception of RAA, there has been a strong desire to document, archive and give voice to the regional architecture community and the work of the association - its achievements, its members and the regions we live and work in.
Having built a strong and supportive community over the past years, we are set to bring a printed publication to life. Guided by a team of experienced professionals, this journal will celebrate regional Australia and offer a platform to the regional architecture community, highlighting our members and their work, asking pertinent questions, and introducing important voices in this sphere.
We want to talk about what is happening in the regions more broadly, the settings that regional architects practice in, the structures guiding our projects, the people working in allied disciplines - the collaborators, mentors and people who help us understand place and environment.
The journal aims to look beyond the beautiful image and draw out the enduring value of a project, the thought processes leading to its development and the forces shaping its creation.
It will expand on the conversations and discussions taking place at RAA gatherings to deepen our understanding of the issues impacting regional Australia.
We are creating a publication bringing everything together, and extending its reach across social and digital platforms—allowing us to truly share the ideas and conversations we are all passionate about.
For Issue No. 1, launching in late 2025, the editorial committee comprises Katharina Hendel, Tahlia Garland and Sarah Aldridge, working alongside editor Peter Salhani and Creative Director Marcus Piper.
Do you have a story to tell? We invite our members to put forward ideas, contacts, case studies or projects that may contribute to this venture.
