Caroline Pidcock will present ideas around VITAL resilience in architecture through a conceptual and cultural lens. Adjunct Professor of Practice at University of Newcastle and recipient of the 2024 Emerald Green Award, Caroline believes that design is our human superpower and that architects hold a unique responsibility (and opportunity) to reimagine the spaces where we live, work, and play in a regenerative, low-carbon future. Our built environments can either deepen the crisis or become powerful resilient solutions.

CAROLINE PIDCOCK
Pidcock

Caroline Pidcock is an architect, educator and advocate of design that is ecologically and socially restorative and regenerative. With over 25 years experience in practice, Caroline was recognised at the end of 2024 as a Fifth State Emerald Green Award and in 2022 with the Energy Efficiency Council’s National Energy Efficiency Champion Award. In 2018, she pivoted her practice to focus on strategic acceleration of regenerative ideas, particularly to address climate change. This includes opening a studio in Dungog. Caroline also teaches at universities throughout NSW, and advocates through various roles, including as Co-Chair of the AIA National Climate Action and Sustainability Committee, and a member of various Design, Sustainability and Local Planning review panels.

Caroline will also open her Dowling Street studio and home, ahead of welcome drinks and dinner at The Royal Hotel, where Maitland musician Dave Wells will take the stage.
