Annual General Meeting & 5th Birthday Celebration

Join us online to celebrate 5 years of RAA, hear about the Strategic Plan update and recap some great achievements in 2025-26.

Wherever you happen to be on the day, we invite/challenge/dare you to get creative and geek out — cook an edible masterpiece (think London’s Great Architectural Bake off), pen a poem, dress up - NOT like an architect - or share any other off-beat architecture-adjacent idea you like!

Members can access the zoom link and committee nomination form in the member content area and will also be notified via email.

RAA AGM & COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS
Ahead of the AGM, nominations are invited for enthusiasts to join the committee and be part of shaping its future. RAA is run by a committee of dedicated volunteers, who meet fortnightly to guide the association’s working groups, events and online programs. 

New recruits are eased in, invited to join a working group, help with event and program planning, or just be a filter for clarity in the discussions. There’s even a handbook to fill you in how things are run. 

Committee nominations are due no later than Tuesday 13th October, 7 days ahead of the AGM. The committee nomination form is available in the member content area; this needs to be signed by two RAA members, and the nominee themself. CELEBRATE 5 YEARS OF RAA!
In exciting news - 2026 marks the fifth anniversary of RAA’s inception! We invite all members to help celebrate this milestone birthday at the AGM. You can participate any way you like - why not gather a group of members in your local area and join online together? Of course, attending online individually is great too.

We encourage everyone to get involved with at least one of the following activities and share evidence of your creation or contribution in the AGM via your profile video feed, or as a post in the RAA Whatsapp group chat. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

• Bake a cake of a building
  This can be any size, as long as it resembles a building! Whether its components are store-bought or self-made doesn’t matter, but the covering must be handmade.

• Regional snapshot
  Pop a candle atop a cupcake and take its photo in front of a background that you think showcases your region. We’re looking for the best regional cupcake photo!

• If I were a building…
  Tell us - which building would you be, and why did you choose that one? Get creative!

• Write a poem
  In a maximum of six lines, poetically describe your favourite project. A photo and short project description provided alongside the poem are also encouraged!

• Famous people
  Come as an architect, or a famous person who studied architecture and ended up doing something else. Full costume or face cutout accepted!

• Party attire
  Wear ‘non-architect’ attire - that means no black! Bright colours only!

• Lolly bags
  If you manage to get a group together, ensure you create that party vibe by making your own lolly bags! Even better if they're architecture-themed.

• Music playlist
  Featuring - of course - any songs you can find that relate to architecture. To get you started, we like: Streets of Your Town (The Go-Betweens), Another Brick in the Wall (Pink Floyd), or An Architect’s Dream (Kate Bush). Feel free to add to RAA’s Spotify playlist here.
