2026 RAA Annual General Meeting & 5th Birthday Celebration

Join the party! We look forward to seeing RAA members at the upcoming AGM to share the achievements of 2025-2026, learn about RAA’s newly developed strategic plan as well as celebrate RAA’s fifth birthday together. Members are invited to gather with others in their local area and/or participate with one of the activities below.

Members can access the zoom link and committee nomination form in the member content area and will also be notified via email.

RAA AGM & COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS
The Regional Architecture Association is run by a volunteer committee, currently of 13, who meet fortnightly to guide the organisation, its working groups, events and programs.

We welcome nominations for new committee members from across Australia who are enthusiastic about the regions, architecture and community. New members begin their tenure with a ‘light touch’ period, when they are encouraged to find their feet and develop a voice. From there, we encourage committee members to play to their strengths by engaging in a working group, assisting with events and other programs, or simply being a filter of clarity.

Our process allows for transition on and off the committee, with a Handbook available to new committee members outlining the running of the association.

Committee nominations are due no later than Tuesday 13th October, 7 days ahead of the AGM. The committee nomination form is available here; this needs to be signed by two RAA members, and the nominee themself. Please contact info@regionalarchitecture.net.au if you would like to discuss your nomination or need help finding members to support it.

CELEBRATE 5 YEARS OF RAA!
In exciting news - 2026 marks the fifth anniversary of RAA’s inception! We invite all members to help celebrate this milestone birthday at the AGM. You can participate any way you like - why not gather a group of members in your local area and join online together? Of course, attending online individually is great too.

We encourage everyone to get involved with at least one of the following activities and share evidence of your creation or contribution in the AGM via your profile video feed, or as a post in the RAA Whatsapp group chat. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  • Bake a cake of a building
This can be any size, as long as it resembles a building! Whether its components are store-bought or self-made doesn’t matter, but the covering must be handmade.

  • Regional snapshot
Pop a candle atop a cupcake and take its photo in front of a background that you think showcases your region. We’re looking for the best regional cupcake photo!

  • If I were a building…
Tell us - which building would you be, and why did you choose that one? Get creative!

  • Write a poem
In maximum six lines, poetically describe your favourite project. A photo and short project description provided alongside the poem are also encouraged!

  • Famous people
Come as an architect, or famous person who studied architecture and ended up doing something else. Full costume or face cutout accepted!

  • Party attire
Wear ‘non architect’ attire - that means no black! Bright colours only: yellow, red, green, orange, purple and so on.

  • Lolly bags
If you manage to get a group together, ensure you create that party vibe by making your own lolly bags! Even better they are architecture themed.

  • Music playlist
Featuring - of course - any songs you can find that relate to architecture. To get you started, we like: Streets of Your Town (The Go-Betweens), Another Brick in the Wall (Pink Floyd), or An Architect’s Dream (Kate Bush).
