REFLECTIONS presenter

Thomas Jager, recipient of the 2026 Architects Medallion, will present his University of Newcastle final year project, Unsung – Apmere, which explores architecture as an act of repair through Country, language and First Nations knowledges.

THOMAS JAGER

Thomas Jager is a Graduate of Architecture and holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Newcastle. His path into architecture began with a Diploma of Building Design at TAFE NSW, followed by a Bachelor of Design (Architecture) at the University of Newcastle.

In 2026, Thomas received the NSW Architects Registration Board Architects Medallion for his Master of Architecture thesis, Unsung – Apmere. He was also the inaugural recipient of the SABE Designing with Country Student Award. His academic work has included research and engagement in Central Australia, including contributing to the Guide to Housing and Infrastructure Standards within Town Camps through a university elective, alongside ongoing research into architecture, Country, housing and infrastructure.
