BELÉN CHIRIVELLA
Belén Chirivella Studio
Belén Chirivella is a Valencian-born architect who has made her home in Lutruwita / Tasmania. Fifteen years of practice have taken her across three continents: learning to build under the Mediterranean sun, finding a way of working with nature in Asia, and now designing in a place where the unexpected is part of the brief.
Trained in Valencia, she started in R&D on energy-efficient buildings in Spain. She carried that rigour to Kuala Lumpur, working across two studios, leading residential towers and a high-end eco-resort on a private island in Belize. She moved to Tasmania in 2016 and spent seven years at Liminal Studio working across hospitality, education, set design and objects, earning national and international recognition. In 2024, she opened her own practice.
Belén Chirivella Studio, run from Nipaluna / Hobart, applies architectural thinking at any scale. Materiality, light and beauty are put in service of what the client and the project actually need.
